Rebellion in Heaven

(Part 2 of 7)

Imagine an angel with perfect and extreme beauty.

Lucifer (Satan) was created by God with a covering of precious stones.  He was in God’s presence and of high rank.

God called him star of the morning, son of the dawn.

It wasn’t good enough for Satan.  His heart became proud and his focus shifted from God to self.

“I will,” became Satan’s phrase of choice:  (Isaiah 14:13-14 NASB)

– I will ascend to heaven.

– I will raise my throne above the stars of God.  (Stars or angels)

– I will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north. (God’s throne)

– I will ascend above the heights of the clouds.

– I will make myself like the Most High.

This high ranking favored one turned his back on the good God and took one third of the angels with him in open rebellion.

An all-out war that would last for centuries had begun.
